$28B Calcasieu Pass LNG Terminal and Hyperscale Data Centers Lead 2025 Texas Project Starts

Large-scale energy and data center projects dominate the Texas and Southeast construction market in 2025, led by the $28B Calcasieu Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana.

By Colin Percy · Apr 6, 2026

Energy and digital infrastructure projects are reshaping the Texas and Southeast construction landscape, with massive capital investments in LNG terminals and hyperscale data centers driving record-setting activity in 2025. Venture Global LNG's $28-billion Calcasieu Pass LNG Export Terminal and Pipeline in Cameron, Louisiana, leads the regional starts, with its standalone value exceeding the total investment of the previous year's top 10 projects combined.

Data center development has surged alongside energy infrastructure. Major initiatives include Meta's $7.5-billion Hyperion Data Center in Richland, Louisiana, and Lancium's $581.8-million AI data center facilities in Abilene, Texas. Google is also active with a $510-million project in Ridgeville, South Carolina, and two $500-million buildings in Stillwater, Oklahoma, while CyrusOne is developing the $750-million DFW10 data center in Whitney, Texas. Other significant starts include the $1.4-billion Westshore Interchange reconstruction in Tampa and the $1.45-billion EverBank Stadium redevelopment in Jacksonville.
