Tesla executives confirm that the next-generation Roadster will be produced at the Gigafactory Texas facility located east of Austin.
Tesla is preparing to add its long-awaited all-electric Roadster to the production lineup at Gigafactory Texas. Company executives confirmed that the vehicle, described as an electric supercar capable of reaching 250 mph, is slated for assembly at the sprawling plant east of Austin. This addition joins a growing production roster at the site, which currently manufactures the Cybertruck, Model Y, and the new Cybercab, alongside plans for the Optimus robot.
While the company has not provided a specific production timeline, design development is underway for the model, which was originally introduced as a prototype in 2006. The Gigafactory Texas facility, which reported 16,506 employees in the Austin area as of the end of 2025, continues to be a central hub for Tesla's manufacturing expansion despite recent fluctuations in headcount.
