Jacksonville officials unveil the new Riverfront Music Garden, a waterfront performance park and Walk of Fame situated along the reconstructed Northbank Riverwalk.
The City of Jacksonville has officially opened the Riverfront Music Garden, a new public space located at 300 Water St. behind the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts. The project, which broke ground in mid-2024, features a musical note-inspired layout, interactive musical installations, and a brass-plaque 'Walk of Fame' honoring 30 influential local musicians and composers. The garden serves as a key addition to the city's broader riverfront revitalization effort, which included extensive redesigns and restoration work on the Northbank Riverwalk stretching from the Riverside Arts Market to the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.
The development represents a significant connectivity milestone, integrating with reconstructed infrastructure at McCoys Creek and aligning with the future Emerald Trail, a planned 30-mile urban network. The garden is positioned adjacent to the recently completed first phase of Riverfront Plaza, which replaced the former Jacksonville Landing. Local leadership expects the music park and the revamped Riverwalk to function as a long-term tourist destination and civic landmark for the downtown area.
