By Colin Percy · May 19, 2026

Skender has commenced construction on Mt. Pisgah Apartments, a new affordable housing project located at 1813 Church St. in Evanston, Illinois. The development will provide 33 residential units—ranging from one to three bedrooms—exclusively for households earning up to 60 percent of the area median income. In addition to the housing, the site will feature 2,250 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, along with community amenities and energy-efficient building systems.

The project is being led by the Housing Opportunity Development Corp. (HODC) in collaboration with Mt. Pisgah Ministries, Skender, and the City of Evanston. HODC will retain long-term ownership and management of the facility. Cordogan, Clark & Associates is serving as the project architect. Financing for the development was provided by a consortium including the Illinois Housing Development Authority, the City of Evanston, Clocktower Tax Credits, the Housing Authority of Cook County, National Equity Fund, Wintrust Village Bank & Trust, and ComEd.
