The Chicago City Council approved LG Group's 66-unit residential development at 1201 W. Kinzie, a $25 million project scheduled to break ground in late 2026.
The Chicago City Council has granted approval for a new five-story residential building located at 1201 W. Kinzie, situated at the intersection of W. Kinzie Street and N. Racine Avenue. Designed by Dirk Denison Architects, the project will feature 66 residential units, including a mix of studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments, with 10 units designated as affordable housing. The structure will rise approximately 71 feet and include ground-floor amenity spaces, an interior garage with 14 parking stalls, and a bike room capacity of 66.
To facilitate the project, the site will be rezoned from M2-3 to DX-5. The development, valued at $25 million, is slated for construction commencement in Q4 2026, with an anticipated completion date in Q2 2028.
