Westlake investor Ravi Cherukuru acquires a 180-acre tract in Howe to develop a new mixed-use retail and residential community.
Westlake-based investor Ravi Cherukuru has purchased a 180-acre development site at the northeast corner of FM 902 and Bennett Road in Howe, Texas. Through his firm, The Cherukuru Investments, he plans to transform the unimproved tract into a master-planned, mixed-use community featuring both retail and residential components. The property, which had been held by the Hightower Family Trust for 140 years, is currently valued at $3.8 million by Grayson County for tax purposes.
Cherukuru has already initiated the entitlement process, filing a petition on April 28 to establish a municipal utility district for the site. This project is the latest addition to the investor's growing portfolio in the area, following a 140-acre acquisition on Bennett Road last year. The development is situated along the Hwy 75 corridor, a region experiencing significant growth driven by industrial expansion, including a nearby $30 billion semiconductor facility project by Texas Instruments.
