Galveston is seeking a private developer to build a mixed-use beachfront destination at the city-owned Stewart Beach site.

The project seeks to replace the aging Stewart Beach Pavilion, which was demolished in late 2024, with a mixed-use development potentially featuring restaurants, hospitality, entertainment, public amenities, and structured parking.
Interested developers have until 10 a.m. on June 18 to submit their solicitations. The initiative is aimed at fostering a more resilient and active recreational asset while preserving public access to the beachfront.
