By Colin Percy · May 21, 2026

The Manassas Regional Airport is moving forward with a $38 million project to replace its 80-year-old air traffic control tower. The new 155-foot structure is being developed in anticipation of the airport's transition to commercial service, which is expected to begin in the summer of 2027, effectively establishing it as the Washington region's fourth commercial airport. Construction on the new tower is slated to commence this October with an anticipated completion date in June 2029.
