The $700 million Lyrik Back Bay mixed-use development in Boston has completed construction, marking a significant milestone as the first major air rights project in the city in four decades. The 20-story tower provides 450,000 square feet of office and lab space, serving as the North American headquarters for major global tenants. The project spans across the Massachusetts Turnpike and MBTA/Amtrak lines, reconnecting the Back Bay, Fenway Back Bay, Fenway, and South End neighborhoods.
The development includes the CitizenM Boston Back Bay Hotel, underground parking, retail and restaurant spaces, and a half-acre public plaza. The exterior features high-performance curtain walls finished with over 29,000 pounds of PPG Coraflon powder coating, specified by developer Samuels & Company and architects Elkus Manfredi to withstand extreme New England weather conditions.
