Onyx Partners Renovating 30K SF Needham Former Electronics Center for New Retail Tenant

Onyx Partners leases ground-floor retail to Pure Hockey at the former 30,000-square-foot You-Do-It Electronics Center in Needham.

By Colin Percy · May 26, 2026

Needham-based Onyx Partners is redeveloping the former You-Do-It Electronics Center at 40 Franklin St. following its $5.7 million acquisition of the property in February. The project includes core and utility upgrades to the nearly 30,000-square-foot building, with the top two floors being converted into the firm's new corporate headquarters.

Pure Hockey, a national athletics retailer, has signed a lease for the ground floor and is expected to open in late summer. Onyx Partners secured $6.6 million in financing for the project from Dedham Institution for Savings and utilized Newmark to broker the initial property acquisition.
