JGE Architecture + Design has completed the construction of Brookley Flats, a new 45,000-square-foot multifamily residential project in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Developed in partnership with Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corp. and Causeway Development, the four-story building replaces a former industrial site and provides 45 affordable homeownership opportunities, including artist live/work units.
The all-electric, solar-ready facility is Passive House (PHIUS) certified, featuring a high-performance building envelope and advanced mechanical systems to minimize energy demand. Amenities include a rooftop deck, gallery space for local artists, bicycle storage, and a 19-space stacker garage. The project was completed with a team including H+O Structural Engineering, BLW Engineering, Michael D’Angelo Landscape Architecture, Sherwood Consulting & Design, Haycon, and DVM Housing Partners.
