Ginsberg Jacobs Appoints Tim Franzen to Spearhead Hospitality Real Estate Practice

Tim Franzen joins Chicago-based law firm Ginsberg Jacobs as partner and chair of its hospitality real estate practice.

Ginsberg Jacobs has appointed industry veteran Tim Franzen to lead the firm’s hospitality real estate division. Franzen brings nearly three decades of experience, having previously served as president of Graduate Hotels and chief development officer at Placemakr. During his tenure at The Harp Group, he directed the acquisition of 3,000 hotel keys valued at over $390 million and oversaw the development of the $103 million Westin Chicago North Shore and the $176 million InterContinental Chicago O’Hare.

Throughout his career, Franzen has managed more than 45 hotel projects totaling approximately 9,300 guestrooms and has been involved in the financing and development of over $2.5 billion in assets across multiple sectors, including multifamily, retail, and mixed-use. In his new role at Ginsberg Jacobs, he will focus on expanding the firm’s hospitality practice while leveraging his background as an owner, developer, and operator to advise clients on complex legal and business transactions.
