Denver International Airport will repurpose underground baggage tunnels into pedestrian walkways to connect concourses A, B, and C by 2027.
Denver International Airport (DEN) is set to enhance passenger connectivity by repurposing portions of its existing underground baggage tunnels into pedestrian walkways. Designed to serve as an alternative to the current train system, the walkways will facilitate movement between concourses A, B, and C. This project is a component of the airport’s Vision 100 strategic plan, which aims to prepare the facility for an eventual capacity of 100 million annual passengers. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2027.
This infrastructure investment follows a series of recent upgrades at the airport, including $75 million spent on modernizing the existing train system and the expansion of 39 new gates. The Great Hall refresh at the Jeppesen Terminal is also expected to reach completion in 2027, further aligning with the airport's long-term modernization efforts.
