The Dallas Office of Economic Development received two IEDC Excellence Awards for its work on the Dallas Development Fund and the 3.7 million-square-foot Project Meadow.
The City of Dallas Office of Economic Development (OED) was recognized by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) at its 2023 Annual Conference, receiving two excellence awards. The OED earned a Gold Award for its management of the Dallas Development Fund, which since 2009 has supported 19 projects, leveraged $280 million in total costs, and facilitated 1.2 million square feet of construction or rehabilitation, resulting in 1,602 jobs created or retained.
A Bronze Award was granted for the office's role in facilitating Project Meadow, a 3.7 million-square-foot mixed-use redevelopment situated on an 11-acre site near the American Airlines Center. Developed by Hunt Realty, the project includes four buildings, commercial space, and a 1.5-acre park. Goldman Sachs is the anchor tenant for the campus, where it will occupy 800,000 square feet of office space designed by Henning Larsen, aiming to house 5,000 employees.
