Benihana Preps 3,000 SF Fast-Casual Build-Out at Denver’s 16M Building

Benihana plans to debut its first fast-casual concept, Benihana Express, within a 3,000-square-foot space at the 16M Building in downtown Denver.

By Colin Percy · May 21, 2026

Benihana is expanding its footprint by launching its inaugural fast-casual concept, Benihana Express, in Denver. The restaurant will occupy 3,000 square feet on the ground floor of the 16M Building, situated at the intersection of 16th Street and Market Street in the city's downtown core.

This new venture represents a shift from the brand's traditional sit-down teppanyaki dining format. Benihana, which was acquired by The ONE Group Hospitality in 2024, currently operates 70 teppanyaki restaurants and 10 franchises across the United States, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. An official opening date for the Denver location has not yet been announced.
