The Ayn Rand Museum and Archives Foundation is planning a $30 million, 27,144-square-foot center near the University of Texas at Austin campus.
The Ayn Rand Museum and Archives Foundation is moving forward with plans to establish a new center in Austin near the intersection of San Gabriel Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The two-story, 27,144-square-foot development will include a library, exhibition space, offices, and higher education classrooms. Construction is slated to begin in July, with an expected completion date in October 2028.
The project carries an estimated cost of $30 million, or approximately $1,100 per square foot. The foundation, which is relocating its operations from Santa Ana, California, to Texas, acquired the two-lot site totaling 0.6 acres between 2023 and 2024. The facility will house rare artifacts and original manuscripts related to the author of 'Atlas Shrugged'.
