Wheeler & Taylor Insurance is closing its 50-year-old Stockbridge office as part of a broader strategy that recently included renovating a new facility in North Adams.
Wheeler & Taylor Insurance is shuttering its long-standing office at 10 Elm Street in Stockbridge, citing a shift in client behavior and a decline in in-person foot traffic. The firm, which has operated the downtown location for 50 years, will transition client accounts to its headquarters in Great Barrington. This move aligns with a broader regional expansion strategy directed by parent company GoodWorks Financial Group.
While consolidating its footprint, the company continues to invest in new locations, including the recent purchase and renovation of the former WMNB/WNAW radio station building on Curran Highway in North Adams. Wheeler & Taylor, which ranks among the 100 largest insurance agencies in the U.S. by volume, plans to continue exploring further acquisitions across Western New England, New York, and beyond.
