Visit Racine County completes a $250,000 renovation of its visitor center in Sturtevant and appoints Mark McCleary as president and CEO.
Visit Racine County has completed a $250,000 renovation of its visitor center, located at 14015 Washington Ave. in Sturtevant. The project, which took place between September and December 2025, included a redesign of the lobby area with new walls, updated art, and fresh travel brochures, alongside upgrades to the facility's meeting and convention room. Funding for the improvements was sourced from county hotel room taxes, including $190,000 contributed by the Village of Mount Pleasant.
The renovation coincides with the leadership transition of the organization, which recently appointed Mark McCleary as its new president and CEO. McCleary, who previously served as interim president, oversees operations as the visitor center returns to its standard Tuesday through Sunday schedule. The facility serves as a key component in the county's tourism efforts, which generated $388 million in total economic impact and $50.1 million in local tax revenue during 2023.
