Nonprofit founder Kelly Gerlitz plans to launch the Geneva Lakes Community Campus, a multi-use redevelopment of the former Chapel on the Hill site in Linn.
Kelly Gerlitz, founder of the nonprofit Lakes Area LifeWay, is repurposing the former Chapel on the Hill property at N7608 State Road 50 into the Geneva Lakes Community Campus. The redevelopment involves renovating several existing buildings to create a versatile hub for education, community events, and worship, with a target launch this fall.
The campus plans include a main building housing a library, lounge, study and conference rooms, and rentable office space. Additional renovations are set for a theater building, intended for fitness classes and performances, while the existing sanctuary and prayer chapel will continue to support church services, weddings, and quiet reflection. Furthermore, the lower level of the main building will host the Lakeside Learning Center, providing preschool and summer camp programming, alongside an accessible playground designed for children with disabilities.
