Triad Alpha Partners has filed a demolition delay application for the former 42,808-square-foot Eblana Brewery in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood.
Newton-based developer Triad Alpha Partners is seeking city permission to demolish the historic Eblana Brewery site, located at 117 and 123-127 Heath St. in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. The property, which spans approximately 2.1 acres, includes a 42,808-square-foot main brewery building dating to 1886 that preservation experts have deemed too structurally compromised for adaptive reuse.
The demolition request is currently under review by the Boston Landmarks Commission as part of a mandatory 90-day delay process required by the city's zoning code. While Historic Boston Inc. has concluded the main building is unsalvageable, the group is advocating for the preservation of a separate 9,800-square-foot structure located on the 117 Heath St. parcel that remains in better condition.
