Sodern America establishes a new 14,000-square-foot aerospace facility in Douglas County to support U.S. manufacturing operations.
French aerospace manufacturer Sodern America has selected Douglas County, Colorado, for its inaugural U.S. expansion. The new 14,000-square-foot facility will focus on the assembly, integration, and testing of advanced optronic systems, including star trackers and space cameras for defense and commercial satellite missions. The site is equipped with a clean room, specialized testing infrastructure, and a customer showroom, and is expected to create approximately 20 net new local jobs.
The expansion follows a collaborative recruitment effort involving the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, the Colorado Space Coalition, Denver South, and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Sodern considered expansion sites in Alabama, California, and Texas before finalizing its move to Colorado to strengthen its support for U.S.-based national space activities.
