Rogerson Communities Secures $1.2M for 98-Unit Worcester Senior Housing Redevelopment

Rogerson Communities receives $1.2 million in federal funding for the 98-unit affordable senior housing redevelopment project in Worcester.

Rogerson Communities has secured $1.2 million in federal funding to support the historic restoration and redevelopment of the St. Vincent Hospital Convent and Nurses Home in Worcester, Massachusetts. The project, which is situated adjacent to the existing Worcester Senior Center, includes the adaptive reuse of historic structures and the construction of a new affordable independent living apartment building. Upon completion, the campus will provide 98 affordable homes for older adults, integrated with on-site support services.

The federal allocation is earmarked specifically for lead and asbestos remediation required by the historical restoration phase. City officials, including Mayor Joseph Petty and City Manager Eric Batista, emphasized the importance of the project as a model for sustainable and affordable senior housing in the city.
