Gin design group completes the 2,800-sf Haii Keii steakhouse and sushi restaurant in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood.
Haii Keii, a new 2,800-square-foot steakhouse and sushi restaurant, has opened in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood. Developed by JAG Hospitality and designed by gin design group, the space draws inspiration from cinematic themes and Japanese ryokan architecture to create a theatrical dining experience.
The interior features a complex, layered design, including hand-plastered metallic walls, over 4,000 feet of suspended red rope, and shoji screens backlit by LED panels. Objektfab and Anchor Construction served as general contractors, with custom fabrication provided by Objektfab. Other design elements include an inverted bonsai tree art installation and a mezzanine-level private dining area designed to mimic intimate, mysterious cinematic spaces.
