NNDA Secures $1.2M in EPA Grants to Accelerate 157+ Northern Nevada Redevelopment Projects

The Northern Nevada Development Authority has secured $1.2M in EPA Brownfield grants since 2014, facilitating the completion of over 157 regional redevelopment projects.

The Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA) continues its long-term strategy of regional revitalization by leveraging federal EPA Brownfield grants to clear underutilized properties. Since 2014, the agency has secured $1.2 million in funding, resulting in the successful remediation and redevelopment of over 157 sites across Northern Nevada. These initiatives target underserved areas in Carson City, Lyon, Storey, Douglas, and Mineral counties, catalyzing economic growth and infrastructure improvements.

Recent project highlights include the 475,000-square-foot Polaris Industries distribution center in Fernley, which saw a $47 million investment, and the completion of the 16,000-square-foot William N. Pennington Life Center in Fallon. Other notable redevelopments include the 160-unit Sierra Flats multifamily complex in Carson City and the new Churchill County Law Enforcement and Detention Center, which utilized $17.3 million in funding to replace aging facilities.
