Developer Leo Lee has unveiled the exterior of a new seven-story, fully affordable housing complex located at 611 S. Hobart Boulevard in Koreatown. The project, designed by EWAI, features a podium-style structure clad in white stucco and includes 80 studio and one-bedroom apartments. The development utilized density bonus incentives to increase its scale and notably includes no on-site parking due to its proximity to public transit.
The project site is situated near a larger parcel at 3800 W. 6th Street, which Lee has been working to redevelop since 2017. Following the abandonment of initial plans for a high-rise hotel and condo project, the developer has shifted focus to a proposed mixed-use residential development that would add 301 apartments to the site.
