Kontos Group Secures Linden Planning Approval for 80-Unit Veranta Apartment Project

The Kontos Group has received unanimous approval from the Linden Planning Board to move forward with Veranta by Kontos, a planned 80-unit residential building located at 1700 West Elizabeth Ave. The developer aims to break ground this fall on the five-story project, which is expected to take approximately two years to complete. The building will feature a mix of four studios, 61 one-bedroom, and 15 two-bedroom floor plans, with the fifth floor designed to include penthouse units with terraces overlooking New York City.

The project site, currently occupied by a former restaurant and a used car dealership, will benefit from a 30-year payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) agreement. The development team includes Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers Inc., Harbor Consultants, Javerbaum Wurgaft, and Otteau Group, with Kontos Construction serving as the general contractor. CBRE is currently sourcing construction and permanent financing for the project, which is situated within one mile of both the Linden and Rahway train stations.
