Holon Stalls $100M North Jacksonville Autonomous Vehicle Factory Groundbreaking

Holon has missed its April groundbreaking target for a proposed $100 million autonomous vehicle manufacturing facility in North Jacksonville.

By Colin Percy · May 18, 2026

Holon, a German-based autonomous vehicle manufacturer, has remained silent regarding the status of its planned production facility at the Eastport Exchange industrial park in North Jacksonville. The project, intended to support the Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s Ultimate Urban Circulator (U2C) system, missed its projected April groundbreaking deadline and has yet to file for necessary construction permits.

Originally announced in October 2025, the facility represents a $100 million capital investment. The city of Jacksonville previously approved an incentive package valued at more than $7.5 million in June 2024 to facilitate the expansion, but local officials and company representatives have not provided updates on the delay.
