HCA Healthcare Breaks Ground on $15M, 10K SF Summerville Freestanding ER

HCA Healthcare has officially broken ground on the new HCA Healthcare Cane Bay ER, a $15 million, 10,000-square-foot medical facility located at 1866 State Road in Summerville. The project is designed to serve the rapidly expanding populations of Cane Bay, Nexton, Del Webb, and Carnes Crossroads by providing local access to 24/7 emergency services.

The facility, which is currently under construction, will feature 10 patient exam rooms, a triage area, advanced imaging equipment, and laboratory services, with completion slated for spring 2027. Local officials and healthcare leaders emphasized that the center will play a vital role in reducing ambulance transport times and improving overall emergency response infrastructure for the growing Berkeley County region.
