CP Group unveils the 1.2M SF 'The CTR' mixed-use project in Atlanta as city leaders also open new green space in the South Downtown area.
Downtown Atlanta recently celebrated the completion of two significant urban renewal milestones ahead of the 2026 World Cup. CP Group has officially unveiled The CTR—formerly the CNN Center—rebranding the iconic 1.2-million-square-foot facility into a multifaceted mixed-use destination featuring updated food halls, entertainment venues, and public art spaces. The property owners are reportedly seeking $200 million in financing to support further conversions, including potential residential components and office updates.
Simultaneously, city and state officials inaugurated new green space in South Downtown, a project led by Newport, which is working to revitalize century-old buildings across the district. Additionally, the $5 billion Centennial Yards entertainment district, spanning an 8-acre core, continues under construction nearby. These developments are part of a broader push to modernize Atlanta’s urban core, supported by initiatives such as a $60 million, 30-year sustainability-focused loan for energy improvements at properties like The CTR.
