Cocina Filipina plans to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 3801 W. Vliet St. in Milwaukee.
After operating a food truck since 2023, Cocina Filipina is expanding into a permanent storefront located at 3801 W. Vliet St. on Milwaukee’s Near West Side. The restaurant replaces the former Lisa Kaye Bistro and aims to open in the coming weeks, serving signature items like rice bowls and lumpia while eventually expanding the menu to include a full cocktail program.
Owners Lupe Moreno and Edu Aragon Guzman are launching the site following a temporary closure of their business caused by a fire at their base kitchen in December. While the new location will serve as a hub for culinary experimentation, the company plans to keep its mobile food truck fleet active for events across the area.
