The city of Catlettsburg hosts a "Lunch on the Lawn" community event at Catlettsburg Elementary to commemorate Memorial Day weekend and the upcoming America 250 anniversary.
Due to inclement weather, the city of Catlettsburg relocated its "Lunch on the Lawn" celebration from the Boyd County courthouse to the gymnasium of Catlettsburg Elementary School. The event, hosted by city council member Susan Campbell, served as a community gathering to honor Memorial Day and initiate local celebrations for the country's 250th anniversary.
The programming included performances by the Boyd County Jazz Band, Mattox Hale, Huck Brown, and the CK Alumni Band. Catering for the event was provided by Double Drizzle, with desserts from Whit’s Frozen Custard. Financial and logistical support for the gathering was supplied by sponsors including Marathon and Hart Sanitation.
