Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance and SV Design break ground on a 20,000-square-foot day resource center in Worcester.

By Colin Percy · May 22, 2026

The Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance, in partnership with the City of Worcester and SV Design, has commenced construction on a 20,000-square-foot day resource center located at 134 Gold St. The project involves the adaptive reuse of a historic mill building to provide essential services to the local homeless population.

General contractor Allegrone is leading the renovation, which will feature a commercial kitchen, laundry facilities, showers, and dedicated spaces for telehealth, resume building, and mental health consultations. The facility is designed to serve as a comprehensive hub for resources, skill development, and employment assistance, marking a significant advancement in the city's efforts to support vulnerable community members.
