The Jacksonville City Council has approved a $12 million incentive package to secure the future of Winn-Dixie’s corporate headquarters in Jacksonville. The deal, passed in a 16-2 vote, includes a $5.5 million property tax refund and a $6.5 million retention grant. In exchange, the grocery chain has committed to a $65 million capital investment in its Jacksonville operations, which includes $48 million for store renovations and $17 million for its headquarters, while also adding 200 new corporate jobs with an average salary of $100,000.
