Development activity in Cedar Park includes the opening of the 10-acre Ridgeline Neighborhood Park and Williamson County's $76M land acquisition for a new justice center.
Growth across the Cedar Park area continues to advance through a mix of new public infrastructure and shifts in local regulatory policy. Austin Parks and Recreation has completed the 10-acre Ridgeline Neighborhood Park, situated on the border of Austin and Cedar Park near Lakeline Mall. The park, which features a looped trail and preserved wetland ecosystem, is scheduled for a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 3.
In other developments, Williamson County commissioners have authorized the $76 million acquisition of a 255-acre tract in southwest Georgetown to serve as the site for a proposed justice center. To fund the land purchase, the county approved up to $150 million in short-term tax anticipation notes. Additionally, the Cedar Park Planning & Zoning Commission has moved to update local food truck ordinances to align with new statewide permitting regulations that take effect on July 1.
