Vesper Amphitheater Planning Entertainment Venue at Provo Canyon Mine Site

Vesper Amphitheater plans to acquire and restore an active mining site at the mouth of Provo Canyon to develop a new outdoor entertainment venue.

By Colin Percy · May 22, 2026

Vesper Amphitheater has announced a project to acquire the active mining site at the base of Mount Timpanogos in Provo, Utah, with plans to cease all mining operations. The developer intends to undertake a comprehensive land restoration program to return native habitat and repair the terrain, creating a permanent gateway for outdoor recreation, including hiking and biking.

Following the restoration, Vesper will develop a landmark outdoor entertainment venue designed to integrate with the natural canyon landscape. The project is being executed in partnership with Provo City, which will facilitate a conservation easement to preserve the site for the community permanently. This initiative aims to establish a new architectural benchmark for performance venues in the Mountain West while prioritizing environmental stewardship.
