National law firm Taft is opening its first New York City office after leasing 16,563 square feet at the Durst Organization's 1155 Avenue of the Americas.
Law firm Taft has selected 1155 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan for its inaugural New York City location. The firm secured 16,563 square feet on the entire 24th floor of the 42-story office tower. The move follows a year of significant expansion for Taft, which now counts over 1,250 attorneys and reported annual revenues exceeding $1 billion. The office will be anchored by the firm's energy, infrastructure, and project finance group.
Located between West 44th and West 45th streets, 1155 Avenue of the Americas currently houses several notable tenants, including Jenner & Block, Perkins Coie, and TransUnion. While financial terms of the lease were not disclosed, office asking rents in Midtown averaged $84.42 per square foot in April. Taft was represented by a team from Colliers, while the Durst Organization handled the transaction in-house.
