Smith Entertainment Group and Intermountain Health are partnering to build a 60,000-square-foot sports medicine center in Sandy, Utah, set for a 2028 opening.
Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) and Intermountain Health have announced plans to develop a 60,000-square-foot sports medicine center at the Shops at South Town in Sandy, Utah. Scheduled for a 2028 opening, the facility will be integrated with the existing Utah Mammoth Ice Center and the forthcoming Utah Jazz practice facility, which is currently under construction and aiming for a 2027 completion. This hub is designed to serve both professional athletes and the general public, offering services including orthopedics, physical medicine, rehabilitation, performance science, and an ambulatory surgery center.
The project is part of a larger revitalization of the 111-acre mall site that SEG acquired in 2024. As part of a broader partnership, Intermountain Health will become the official healthcare provider for the Jazz and the Mammoth starting July 1, while Select Health becomes the exclusive health insurance provider for both teams. SEG leadership noted that the project is intended to establish the campus as a premier destination for sports performance and clinical care in the region.
