Savarino Companies highlights its community-vetted development plan for the DL&W Terminal, which features a food hall, public market, and glassblowing studio.
Savarino Companies is moving forward with a redevelopment plan for the second floor of the DL&W Terminal in Buffalo, New York, based on a comprehensive community engagement process led by Project for Public Spaces. The project, which has already received approval from the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), is designed to include a food hall, a public market, a pocket grocer, various performance and event venues, and the Buffalo Electric Glass studio.
The development plan was finalized following an extensive survey that gathered feedback from over 900 local residents, prioritizing food, beverage, markets, and arts and entertainment. Despite public calls for further community input, Savarino emphasizes that the project's Program of Spaces is already fully defined and backed by investors, with plans and renderings currently available for public review.
