Santa Clara University plans an 82,000-square-foot medical school facility in California backed by a $175 million donation.
Santa Clara University is establishing the Mary & Mark Stevens School of Medicine, supported by a $175 million gift from alumni Mary and Mark Stevens. The project, which includes an 82,000-square-foot facility, will operate in partnership with Sutter Health to address California's projected shortage of over 4,000 primary care physicians by 2030.
The school will utilize an integrated training model, placing students within Sutter Health’s clinical network. The new academic building will be located near Sutter Health’s upcoming 272-bed hospital, where students will gain hands-on clinical experience while utilizing curricula that incorporate artificial intelligence and emerging healthcare technologies.
