Matt and Debbie Pruette transformed a portion of a lawnmower shop into a mountain-resort-style retail space for Microgrown Market in a suburb southwest of Philadelphia.
Microgrown Market, a retail cannabis dispensary located 20 miles southwest of Philadelphia, has undergone two expansions to meet increasing consumer demand for its variety of cannabinoid products, including THCa flower, tinctures, and edibles. Owners Matt and Debbie Pruette designed the interior to move away from typical clinical dispensary aesthetics, opting for a "North Woods mountain resort" theme featuring knotty pine walls, ledgestone, and decorative Ceilume ceiling tiles.
The project involved repurposing an existing green metal building, with Matt Pruette managing the design and utilizing natural materials like rough-cut oak lumber for shelving and tables. The facility includes a dedicated consultation area featuring a fountain to provide a calming environment for customers, reflecting the owners' focus on education and personalized service over traditional high-volume retail models.
