Pensacola State College prepares to break ground on a new Diesel and Marine Mechanics facility later this month following nearly two decades of campus growth under retiring President Ed Meadows.
Pensacola State College (PSC) is expanding its workforce development infrastructure with the upcoming groundbreaking of a new Diesel and Marine Mechanics facility. This project follows a period of significant capital investment under the leadership of outgoing president Dr. Ed Meadows, who departs on December 31. Throughout his 18-year tenure, the institution has completed numerous state-of-the-art facilities, including the South Santa Rosa Center, the Molly McGuire School of Culinary Arts, and the aviation maintenance facility at Pensacola International Airport.
The college's expansion strategy has been fueled by over $36 million in Triumph Gulf Coast funding and nearly $35.5 million in private donations. Recent campus improvements also feature a $7 million repaving program and the upcoming opening of the Jan Miller Center, which was fully funded last year. These initiatives, alongside the establishment of 61 new career and technical certificates, have positioned PSC as a regional epicenter for vocational training in fields ranging from cybersecurity to aviation and industrial mechanics.
