The University of Texas Board of Regents has approved a $2.9 billion expansion plan for the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. The project will be financed through a combination of $1.6 billion in hospital revenues and $1.2 billion in university revenue bonds.

The expansion includes the construction of a standalone 1.8 million square foot Therapeutic Radiation Center, which will house imaging, infusion and cell therapy services, surgical suites, and diagnostic laboratories, alongside a new 25-floor patient care building. The project is slated for completion in phases, with final delivery scheduled for October 2032.
