The city of Jacksonville unveils plans for the $46M second phase of Riverfront Plaza, which is currently under construction and slated for completion by late 2027.
The second phase of Jacksonville’s Riverfront Plaza is currently under construction, with completion anticipated by the end of 2027. Located along the St. Johns Riverfront on the site of the former courthouse and Jacksonville Landing, the $46 million project features a beer garden, a restaurant, a water feature, and pedestrian connectivity to the Main Street Bridge. Future plans for the site also include a hotel and residential development led by Gateway Jax, which will feature a public terrace overlooking the park.
The overall Riverfront Plaza redevelopment, designed by Perkins & Will, represents a $78.5 million investment. Phase one, which cost $33 million, focused on riverwalk improvements and bulkhead reconstruction. The second phase, currently in the final documentation stage, will introduce additional amenities including elevated swing decks and native landscaping, serving as a primary link between downtown activities and the Northbank Riverwalk.
