Jacksonville officials unveil $46 million plans for Phase 2 of the Riverfront Plaza redevelopment along the St. Johns River.
Jacksonville has released updated renderings for Phase 2 of the Riverfront Plaza, a major riverfront redevelopment project located near the Main Street Bridge. Following the completion of the $33 million first phase, the city is moving forward with a $46 million expansion that aims to create a continuous public realm along the St. Johns River. The project will feature a beer garden, restaurant space, winding pedestrian paths, native landscaping, and a water feature, while establishing a direct bicycle and pedestrian link to the Main Street Bridge.
The second phase, designed to integrate with the existing Northbank Riverwalk and Music Garden, also creates a foundation for future private development. Plans include a proposed hotel and residential building to be developed by Gateway Jax, which will feature a publicly accessible terrace overlooking the park and river. The broader redevelopment strategy seeks to transform the former Jacksonville Landing site and adjacent areas into a cohesive system of public spaces and mixed-use facilities.
