Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport prepares to open the new South Red Deck, which adds over 7,000 parking spaces to the airport's South Terminal.
The South Red Deck at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is scheduled to open on June 1, providing travelers with more than 7,000 additional parking spaces. The facility, which topped out in August, is designed for direct terminal access and features modern amenities such as license-plate readers for ticketless entry, over 100 electric-vehicle charging stations, and smart-parking technology. It is intended to offer a seamless transition for passengers heading to the South Terminal, a major hub for Delta Air Lines.
The project is a collaboration between a joint venture of general contractors including Holder Construction, Austin Commercial, C.D. Moody Construction Company, and Bryson Constructors. While this deck nears completion, other ongoing development efforts at the airport, including a new South Economy Parking Deck and an Aviation Administration Center, remain under construction.
