Hypersonic aircraft developer Hermeus is moving its headquarters to California while maintaining its 111,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Doraville, Georgia.
Hermeus, a hypersonic plane startup now valued at $1 billion, is shifting its primary headquarters from Atlanta to the Los Angeles area. Despite the relocation of its corporate leadership, the company intends to keep its existing 111,000-square-foot production facility in Doraville, Georgia, where it continues to assemble its Quarterhorse aircraft series. Founder AJ Piplica noted that the move is driven by the recruitment advantages of the Southern California aerospace corridor.
While the company transitions to its new headquarters in El Segundo, California, its Georgia operations remain a central component of its manufacturing strategy. The company is currently prepping its Quarterhorse Mk 2 for a third test flight scheduled for this fall, as it works toward developing hypersonic aircraft for defense and commercial travel applications.
