Gilead Sciences Clears Planning Hurdle for 800K SF Chess Hatch Biotech Campus

The Foster City Planning Commission has officially recommended that the City Council approve a rezoning, specific development plan, parcel map, and parking agreement for Gilead Sciences' long-stalled Chess Hatch biotech campus. This decision paves the way for Phase 1 of the 800,000-square-foot project, which has been in the planning stages for over a decade.

The project site, located along Chess Drive, represents a significant expansion for Gilead. The commission's recommendation on May 21 marks a critical regulatory milestone for the development, effectively clearing the primary hurdle to move the campus from the planning phase into the next stage of implementation.
