The Gilbert Town Council has approved a new $1.7B Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) spanning fiscal years 2027 through 2036. The investment includes $1.2B for ongoing infrastructure projects and $540M in new funding. Water systems represent a significant portion of the long-term strategy, with total utility-related planning reaching over $2B across the extended window.

Key near-term priorities include the completion of the Advocacy Center's first phase this fall and the start of operations at the North Water Treatment Plant this summer. The CIP also targets significant upgrades for major thoroughfares like Higley, Lindsay, Warner, Val Vista, Power, and Pecos roads, alongside ongoing redevelopment efforts in the Heritage District, such as the Vaughn Avenue Connector. Public safety initiatives, including fire station renovations and the expansion of the Public Safety Center, round out the plan, which will be financed through a combination of bonds and sales tax revenues.
