Exposition Park plans $100 million in infrastructure upgrades to improve accessibility and safety ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Exposition Park is preparing for its role as a key venue for the 2028 Olympic Games, with general manager Andrea Ambriz outlining a strategy focused on transit accessibility, public safety, and infrastructure modernization. As part of a state-backed initiative, the 160-acre campus is slated to receive $100 million in improvements, including major sidewalk and roadway repairs and the installation of accessible ramps to ensure compliance and ease of movement during the event.
While some elements of the broader park master plan have been deferred until after the Games, these infrastructure upgrades remain a priority to support the anticipated influx of visitors. The park, which features two onsite Metro stations, is coordinating with city partners and community leaders to balance the needs of the surrounding residential neighborhood with the demands of an international event. Ambriz noted that the park is also exploring sustainable energy solutions, such as solar power integration, to establish a long-term legacy for the site following the conclusion of the 2028 events.
