Energy Secretary Chris Wright has announced plans to construct the world’s largest artificial intelligence data center in Piketon, Ohio. The facility is slated for development on the site of a former uranium processing plant.

The announcement comes amidst growing regional tension, occurring just days after a group of rural Ohio residents filed a petition seeking to establish a constitutional ban on mega data centers via a statewide ballot initiative.
